Thanksgiving Run-Down

Sharon and Spencer's EXCELLENT Thanksgiving Adventure:

Wednesday, 11/21

5:00pm- Off of work. Fight the grocery store crowd for the ingredients of Aunt Dora's Squash Casserole and my Grandmomma's Green Goop- also known as a Lime Jello Congealed Salad. Green Goop was the name the dish was very affectionately given when my dad's brother's wife, Beth, made it and didn't know to have the jello set before adding the other ingredients. Jello not congealed = green goop.

6:30pm- Out to dinner-- hunting for anything NOT turkey. We landed at Beef o Brady's for wings and beer.

8:00pm- Spencer and I watched A River Runs Through It- FUN! because Spencer and I rarely watch movies at home together.... and I tried put together a new artificial tree for the front of the house. (not to worry, I'm still getting a real tree, too!)

Thanksgiving Day

9:00am- Breakfast with Spencer's mom. We enjoyed a great sausage casserole and visited for a couple of hours.

11:30am- YIKES! Forgot to put butter in the squash casserole. Quickly tried to fix and out the door to Walterboro.

1:00pm- Turkey and stuffing and casseroles- OH MY!

4:00pm- Hazel family pulls names for gift exchange, toss the football in the front yard.... and a few realize they aren't so young anymore. (happens when you have football "throwers" from their teens to their 60's. )

4:30pm- Hazel clan leaves. Sam Hazel family remains. Wine drinking begins.

5:30pm- 11:30pm- Details not too clear..... Lots of laughs, many bottles and good times shared.

Friday, 11/23

9:00 ish- Wake to yummy waffle and fried ham breakfast by Momma and Carolyn!

11:00am- Sharon and Spencer leave Walterboro to spend the rest of the weekend in Edisto.

12:30pm- Drop Spencer off at the Edisto golf course.

1:15pm- Sharon naps - I LOVE NAPS!!!

4:00pm- Spencer's college friend, Billy, joins us at the beach. Go to the grocery store to buy ingredients for Billy's fabulous Chicken Marcela.

4:20pm- Billy mistaken in the Edisto Pig as my husband... he-he :)

5:00pm- Pick up Spencer from the golf course.

7:00pm- Another great meal! Billy is a wonderful chef!!!!

10:00pm- Out on the town! Hit the newest spot in Edisto nightlife- the Thirsty Fish.

Saturday, November 24

Slow to wake.... need a cheeseburger!

12noon- Plantation Grill for cheeseburgers and Va. vs. Va. Tech game.

Football watching, beer drinking and napping....

10:00ish- Our Clemson Tigers beat those SC Cocks!! Life is good! :)

Sunday, November 25

11:30am- Watch Tommy Bowden show

12noon- Watch Steve Spurrier show

12:30pm- On the road to reality again......
