The BBQ was a SUCCESS!

The Junior Service League hosted the 3rd annual BBQ for the Boys & Girls Clubs this Saturday. It made for a busy weekend with Mom and Dad in town, too, for a wedding. The event was such a success and I was thrilled with the number of people who attended- over 450- the money raised- right now it looks like significantly more than last year- and the hard work of the League and our members. It felt so good to receive compliment after compliment from all kinds of people. Our small town just still cannot believe that 1) there's a group of 130 young women in town (poor Beaufort gets labeled as a resort/retirement town and more and more young people are choosing Beaufort as home- and as a great place to raise a family) and 2) we're capable of such great things. It is a lot of fun to be involved with such an energetic, fun group of gals that care enough to make a difference!
